Something was happening to me, and I could notice/sense it, my overall productivity was declining and I was not utilizing my time in doing the tasks which I had to do.

Context:

Hey, I need help! I recently started my class 12. and I don't know why but I've had my eyes on this person who has made me obsessed. I was a topper in school and I wish to pursue higher studies with good grades, but this person keeps distracting me. I've never spoken to her much, but I can't stop myself thinking about her, and wasting my time doing unproductive things .Just as soon as I want to stop liking her I can't convence myself. I know that I have no future with her.

Yet my mind is in ready to listen. Can you please help me out? How do I drift my attention back to academics.???

I looked for many techniques to solve this issue in long term and I've found few ways to reduce this feeling. (I dint try it yet, but I'm sure it would lead to positive change.)

Suggestions:

1. Set realistic goals for yourself and make sure that you have a clear plan of action on how to achieve them. This will help to keep you motivated and focused on what is important.
2. Take some time for yourself every day to do something that you enjoy outside of school or work. This can be something as simple as reading, going for a walk, or listening to music. This will help to reduce stress and give you a break from thinking about that person.
3. Talk to someone about what you are going through. It can be helpful to talk to a friend, family member, or therapist about the situation. This can help you to understand your thoughts and feelings better and figure out ways to deal with them.
4. Keep a journal where you can write down your thoughts and feelings about the situation. This can be a helpful to get everything out of your head and onto paper. You can also look back on your writings and recognise any patterns in your thinking that you can work on changing.
5. Seek professional help if you feel like you are struggling to cope with the situation on your own. A therapist can provide guidance and support as you work through these difficult emotions. Never try to force your feelings, it  backfires and does more harm than good
